How do I burn a powerpoint presentation onto a CD?

I made a powerpoint slideshow for my best friend for her birthday and she's coming back from camp tomorrow. I saved the powerpoint on my computer, and I put in a CD Rom in my Windows XP (im using a Memorex Music CD-R). I used Moyea PPT to DVD coverter, but it keeps saying that I do not have a writable disk in the drive. How can I get the powerpoint onto the CD to play as a DVD in a television? Is it because I'm using a music CD instead of a DVD? Or do I have to download something else like Nero?
