Why hasn't this plasma arc waste disposal process caught on?

Yeah basically... costs a lot of money, the high heat can melt most metals (high temp metals withstand perhaps 1200�C). It's supposed to generate net heat but that's hard to recapture due to the above. The amount of energy spent making the items about 10,000�C isn't really offset by the energy you capture from the molecules breaking down into smaller parts.
